Ohio’s first responders, fire fighters, and law enforcement officials put their lives on the line to protect our communities. They are the heart of a strong middle class. Yet with reduced tax revenues but rising demand for public services – like fire and police – it’s critical that we help our communities carry out their most basic and life saving duties. We must continue to ensure that these brave public servants have the resources they need to safely perform their jobs.

Last year, the Ohio Medicaid program spent more than $918 million on prescription medicines. While most prescription pain medicines are used as prescribed, some criminals and addicts are defrauding the Medicaid system by attempting to acquire multiple prescriptions and filling them at multiple pharmacies-undermining taxpayers and efforts to combat prescription drug abuse.
