WASHINGTON, D.C. – New federal resources have been awarded to an airport in Shelby County. U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today announced that the City of Sidney has been awarded federal resources through the U.S. Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to rehabilitate the runway, relocate a pond, and acquire more land at the Sidney Municipal Airport.

“The Sidney Municipal Airport provides important travel services to area small businesses, recreational pilots, and visitors,” Brown said. “This funding will improve the safety and efficiency of the airport so it can remain a reliable option for the county.”

The airport will receive a $2,289,704 grant to complete the project.
