COLUMBUS, Ohio – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) marked the official renaming of the United States Postal Service facility in Dublin as the “Lance Corporal Wesley G. Davids and Captain Nicholas J. Rozanski Memorial Post Office” in honor of two Ohio service members who lost their lives while defending our nation. Brown cosponsored legislation to honor the Dublin natives who were killed in action.

“We cannot forget the profound sacrifice Lance Corporal Wesley G. Davids and Captain Nicholas J. Rozanski made to preserve our freedoms,” Brown said. “These heroes showed bravery and courage in defense of our nation. By renaming the Dublin Postal Service facility after them, we honor their legacy.”

Lance Corporal Wesley G. Davids was a 2003 graduate of Dublin Scioto High School and was inspired to join the U.S. Marine Corps after the events of Sept. 11, 2001. Davids was a member of Lima Company, 3rd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment and was killed in action on May 11, 2005 in Karabilah, Iraq.

Captain Nicholas J. Rozanski was a 1994 graduate of Dublin High School and a member of the Ohio Army National Guard. Rozanski was killed in action in April 2012 while training Afghan security forces.

Brown is a vocal advocate for military service members and their families. Brown is the only Ohio Senator to serve a full term on the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee and is Co-Chair of the Senate Air Force Caucus.
