WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) issued the following statement in response to President Obama’s budget request for Fiscal Year 2016:

“This proposal includes the investments in education, infrastructure, and manufacturing that our nation needs to continue to be globally competitive,” Brown said. “Democrats have already reduced the deficit by two-thirds in the past six years and worked with Republicans to cut the deficit by more than $3.4 trillion. Today’s budget provides a balanced approach to growing our economy and reducing the deficit and ends dangerous, automatic cuts that jeopardize our national security and hinder job growth.”
