WASHINGTON, D.C. –U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) issued the following statement in remembrance of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001:

“On this national day of remembrance, we honor those who lost their lives 11 years ago. We honor the families of the victims – and the survivors. And we honor the courageous first responders who lost their lives – and suffered illnesses because of their selflessness. We also salute servicemembers and their families who have sacrificed so much since those tragic events,” Brown said. “More than a decade later, we all remember where we were on that clear Tuesday morning. Regardless of where we worked – at a manufacturing plant in Northeast Ohio or on a farm in Western Ohio; we came together as Americans. It is this spirit of solidarity we reaffirm on this day. And, today, we must come together again – and focus on moving forward as one nation.”
