WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today announced $493,070 in federal resources for Madison County Airport in London to make improvements that will help increase efficiency and safety. The Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the funding.

“Support for community airports is key to the safety of travelers and the flow of commerce,” said Brown. “This award will give Madison County the resources to make needed improvements that will protect wildlife and benefit those that rely on the local airport and its services.”

The $493,070 award will fund the first phase of a 14,036 square foot hangar building to help the airport begin generating revenue as well as construction of 323 foot taxiway to the hanger. Funds will also go towards identifying and assessing any hazards to wildlife.
