WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today announced that Kent State University Airport has been awarded $224,433 by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) to purchase snow removal equipment, including a snow removal truck with a loader, blower, broom, and blade.

“This is great news for Summit County,” Brown said. “These improvements will enhance safety at Kent State University Airport during adverse weather conditions. These federal dollars will go a long way in sustaining travel in and out of the airport for area residents and businesses.”
