WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH), co-chair of the U.S. Senate Air Force Caucus, today delivered remarks at the annual Senate Air Force Caucus breakfast in Washington, D.C.

“The Air Force Caucus provides invaluable opportunities for members and staff to learn about and discuss issues important to the Senate and the Air Force,” Brown said. “By providing a forum for discussion and information sharing, together, we can help best serve the brave men and women and their families who dedicate themselves each day to protecting all of us.”

The Senate Air Force Caucus sponsors briefings, base visits, and meetings with the Chief of Staff of the Air Force and other personnel throughout the year. This organization not only educates the Senators about the importance of the Air Force and general military issues, but also focuses its energies and educational tools on the Senators’ staff members through briefings and on-site Air Force base visits in order to improve the lives of servicemembers, their families, and communities.

Ohio is home to more than 5,000 air guardsmen and women, and six Air Force bases including, Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Mansfield Lahm Air National Guard Base, Rickenbacker Air National Guard Base, Springfield Air National Guard Base, the Toledo Air National Guard Base, and the Youngstown Air Reserve Station. Both the Air Force Research Lab and the Air Force Materiel Command are headquartered in Dayton at Wright Patterson Air Force Base.
