(L-R: Ginnie Vogts, Sen. Sherrod Brown, Elizabeth Clerkin)

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) met with Ginnie Vogts, Columbus resident and volunteer for RESULTS – an advocacy movement that seeks to end poverty. Vogts attended Brown’s weekly coffee with constituents while in Washington D.C. to advocate on behalf of RESULTS for the Earned Income Tax Credit and the Child Tax Credit.

“It was an honor to meet with Ginnie and her fellow RESULTS volunteer,” Brown said. “Poverty is a real problem facing too many families here and abroad. Through critical tax credits, global health initiatives, and food security programs, we can help lift up those facing poverty.”

RESULTS targets global and domestic poverty and seeks to end extreme poverty by 2030 through changes to tax policy and by increasing access to health care and higher education. RESULTS members advocated for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and the Child Tax Credit (CTC) while in Washington. Brown has championed these tax credits, and has worked to extend and expand them.
