NORTH CANTON, OH—U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) met with veterans and job seekers today after joining officials from Chesapeake Energy Corporation for a jobs open house in North Canton. Brown’s office is working to help qualified workers in Ohio find available employment opportunities, and Brown was on hand today with additional resources for job seekers in Stark County and beyond.

“Servicemembers who risk their lives protecting our nation shouldn’t have to wonder whether or not they’ll be able to find a job when they leave the service,” Brown said. “Today, many veterans face an unacceptably high unemployment rate. Job fairs like these can help Ohio veterans and workers find new employment opportunities.”

The jobs open house took place at the University Center at Kent State University’s Stark campus in North Canton. The company is searching for experienced, full-time employees for the following positions in Ohio: Floormen, Field Technicians, Pumpers, Compressor Mechanic Trainee, Equipment Operators, Electronic Technicians, Maintenance Technicians, Pipeline Technicians, Facility Operators, and Service Technicians. Veterans were encouraged to attend, but the company is considering all qualified applicants.
