WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown today announced more than $1,700,000 in federal funding for Wayne County Airport to make improvements that will help increase efficiency and safety. The Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the funding.

“Support for community airports is key to the safety of travelers and the flow of commerce,” said Brown. “This award will give Wayne County the resources to make needed improvements that will benefit those that rely on the local airport and its services.”

The $1,719,772 award will fund the rehabilitation of Runway 10/28.
