Sen. Brown  with First and Last Men on the Moon
Prior to a hearing, Sen. Brown met with Neil Armstrong, Eagle Scout, native Ohioan from Wapakoneta, commander of Apollo 11 and first man on the moon; as well as Eugene “Gene” Cernan, Chicago native, commander of Apollo 17 and last man on the moon. They discussed science education issues before they former astronauts testified to the Senate Commerce committee about the future of the space program on Wednesday May 12, 2010.



Sen. Brown visits Springfield Air National Guard Base
Sen. Brown and Ohio Governor Ted Strickland announced plans to save the Springfield Ohio Air National Guard Base (ANGB). The U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) announced that the Springfield ANGB has been assigned a unit of MQ-1 aircraft, retaining 866 positions. The base will also retain jobs through an expansion of the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC), headquartered at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

Sen. Brown, AG Cordray Hold Summit to Connect Ohio Veterans with Critical Resources
Sen. Brown joined state leaders, veterans' service organizations, members of the military and veterans for the second annual Ohio Military and Veterans Summit. The summit, hosted by Attorney General Richard Cordray, is a collaborative effort to address the latest issues affecting veterans, military members, and their families.

Third Annual Ohio College and University Presidents Conference
Sen. Brown hosted his third annual college and university presidents' conference in Washington, D.C. with nearly 50 presidents in attendance from colleges and universities across Ohio.
