Administration keeps up pressure on China

WASHINGTON -- The Obama administration is continuing to keep the pressure on China to move more quickly on allowing its currency to rise in value against the dollar.

A senior Treasury Department official told reporters Wednesday the currency issue would be a major topic at weekend meetings in South Korea of finance officials from the Group of 20 major economies.

This official said it was bad for the global economy when major countries manipulate their currencies.
