DAYTON, Ohio — A U.S. senator from Ohio is challenging Veterans Affairs officials to ensure there is no repeat of problems at the Dayton VA hospital that led to testing hundreds of veterans for potential infections.
Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown held a Senate Veterans Affairs committee hearing Tuesday at the hospital, where VA investigators say a dentist failed for years to change gloves or sterilize instruments between patients.
Brown says that must never happen again. He says veterans are entitled to top-quality medical care and should feel confident they’re getting it.
