WEST SALEM -- Community Independent Bancorp in West Salem has received $2.3 million through the Small Business Lending Fund to increase its loan production for local companies seeking to expand or hire additional employees, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown announced recently.
"Small businesses are engines of job creation and will lead our state's economic recovery," Brown said in a news release. "This latest round of SBLF funding will help West Salem's Community Independent Bancorp partner with our small businesses to unlock critical capital to create jobs and drive our economy forward."
President/CEO of Community Independent Bancorp Marlene Barkheimer said the bank identified several local businesses that would benefit when it applied for the funding.
