Sen. Sherrod Brown will work to attach an amendment aimed at helping prevent Asian carp from entering the Ohio River basin to a bill being debated in the Senate this week.

The Ohio Democrat, along with Sen. Pat Toomey, R-Pa., are pushing an amendment that would put the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in charge of a federal effort to combat the spread of the invasive species. They’ll attach the amendment to the Water Resources Development Act, a bill being debated in the Senate this week.
