A health care reform bill before Congress would make health care insurance available to all Americans and should improve health care by pitting public and private plans against each other, two national leaders say.

For the past three weeks, members of a Senate committee have worked on improving a health care reform bill spearheaded by President Barack Obama and his administration, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio said Thursday during a media teleconference.

“We have found ways to reduce costs, we have found ways to improve the quality of care through prevention and wellness and through eliminating fraud and abuse,” Brown said.
