A U.S. senator from Ohio says he plans today to introduce two bills to help preserve the state’s vast system of bridges and infrastructure.

U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, a Democrat, said protecting Ohio’s bridges is necessary and the two bills he plans to introduce should help protect the structures.

During a session of Congress today, Brown said he plans to introduce a measure to mandate corrosion mitigation and prevention plans for new bridges and a second bill to provide a 50 percent tax credit to improve anti-corrosion technology that protects existing infrastructure.
