As unemployment rates have risen across the country during the current economic downturn, a number of Ohioans have turned to using their credit cards to help make ends meet.
All the more reason to support legislation aimed at reforming a number of the practices employed by credit card companies, said U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, a co-sponsor of the Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility and Disclosure (CARD) Act of 2009.
"Ohioans have had enough of the abusive and predatory practices used by credit card companies," said Brown, D-Ohio. "Too many Americans struggle to pay their bills. They shouldn't also have to worry about arbitrary interest rate increases or outrageous penalty fees.
