Ohio wants to ensure that the workers who move our country aren’t left behind when we adopt new technologies.
Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown To help people working with fossil fuels such as coal and oil trains get jobs on solar and wind, we have introduced the US Energy Worker Opportunity Act. The proposed bill will help workers who quit their jobs get a grant to return to school and get a degree in another energy sector. The bill will also provide workers with some income while they return to school. Brown says his law helps prepare for the future of US energy.
“If those jobs are going to be gone and many of them are gone, we need to help the workers and provide them with payment in the meantime. Go to Rose State University or OSU Lima or these highs We needed to make sure they could be trained in an apprenticeship program that they might want to do to get trained in income alternative energy jobs, “says Senator Brown.
