Brown Keeps Plugging for Public Option

As Democrats try to figure out whether health care reform still has a chance and Republicans and President Barack Obama prepare for an expected White House health care "summit," Sen. Sherrod Brown is still pushing for a public option.

The Ohio Democrat was one of four senators to spearhead a letter recently to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid asking that a government-run health plan option be brought for a vote before the full Senate under special "reconciliation" rules that only require a majority vote, not the 60 votes needed to overcome a filibster.
