Speaking by telephone Tuesday from Asia, President Donald Trump told Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, and 11 other senators that he wants Congress to approve a bipartisan plan to overhaul the federal tax code and reduce tax rates.

The call took place during a meeting with the senators and Gary Cohn, director of the White House National Economic Council, and Marc Short, director of legislative affairs at the White House. The meeting took place at the Library of Congress on Capitol Hill.
