WASHINGTON, D.C. – Seven southwest Ohio high school seniors are being nominated to attend U.S. Military Service Academies. U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) announced the nomination of students from Clermont, Greene, Montgomery, and Warren Counties Wednesday.
Three of the seven are from Clermont County: Moeller student William Hamiter, headed to the Naval Academy, along with Milford High School's Zachary Sullivan and Cincinnati Country Day's Nathaniel Adams, also of Milford, both attending the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.
Jared Roberts of Springboro, who attends Missouri Military Academy, has been nominated to the Air Force Academy.
From Dayton, home-schooled Sara Fishbein has also been nominated to the Air Force Academy. Carroll High School's Stephanie Shubert is headed for the Naval Academy, and Charles Black from Bellbrook High School is nominated to the Merchant Marine Academy.
“Ohio schools are training leaders for the next generation of military personnel. I am honored to nominate these outstanding students for our prestigious U.S. Military Service Academies,” said Brown. “These Ohioans embody the integrity and courage needed to represent well and uphold the values of our nation. I am grateful for their dedication to serving our country.”
