XENIA - HOPE Cafe, 1855 Bellbrook Avenue, received praise for its efforts to eliminate the causes and conditions of poverty on Wednesday, Aug. 25 when Sen. Sherrod Brown joined Xenia Mayor Marsha Bayless in a tour of the restaurant. County Commissioner Marilyn Reid was also on hand to see the progress being made by HOPE Cafe participants and staff.

Brown and Bayless visited both the dining area and the kitchen and received an opportunity to speak with apprentices of the program; cooks, waiters, clerks and former apprentices shared their stories with the senator and mayor and explained how HOPE Cafe was assisting them in bettering their lives. Bayless was impressed with both the facility and the staff.
