Columbus businessman Joao Simones doesn’t believe he would be able to operate without the Export-Import Bank.
Simones’ company, Davenport Aviation, uses credit insurance from the Export-Import Bank to secure sales with customers in Europe, Africa and South America. The company’s first sale in 2009 to a customer in Africa was possible only because of the bank, he said.
“We consider the Ex-Im Bank a critical tool to help our company grow,” Simones told Ohio-based reporters during a conference call Wednesday organized by U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown.
