ZANESVILLE - U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown announced Tuesday that he was able to get a $500,000 earmark included in a 2009 federal spending bill for the repairs to the State Street Bridge.
The project was completed this summer, but the funds could help wipe out a portion of the debt service the city of Zanesville took on to complete the repairs.
"Zanesville deserves an infrastructure that supports the economy and future of the area," Brown said, noting that with the bridge repairs "businesses in Zanesville will once again benefit from better access to I-70."
