WASHINGTON, DC— U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today announced his recommendations to President Obama for the positions of U.S. Attorney and U.S. Marshal for the Northern District of Ohio. After consulting with Sen. George Voinovich (R-OH), Brown will recommend the appointment of Steven Dettelbach for U.S. Attorney and the reappointment of Peter Elliot for U.S. Marshal in the Northern District of Ohio.
“Steve Dettelbach would excel as U.S. Attorney,” said Brown. “He received high marks for his work as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Northern District and prior to that in Maryland and the District of Columbia. He is a leader in handling civil rights cases throughout the nation. Steve demonstrated a commitment to diversity and public service as an Assistant U.S. Attorney and I wholeheartedly recommend him for this position.”
