Sen. Sherrod Brown said this afternoon that more than $7 million in money to counsel homeowners facing foreclosure is on the way to Ohio housing agencies.

Of nearly $7.3 million total going to Ohio agencies, about $4.4 million is going to the Ohio Housing Finance Agency in Columbus, Brown's office said. The money mainly stems from a housing bill passed this summer.

The money is for agencies participating in the National Foreclosure Mitigation Counseling Program, Brown's office said.
