Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, is urging President Barack Obama to enact a “National Call to Service” to aid Gulf oil spill cleanup efforts.

Brown tells Obama, in a letter sent today, that the goal would be to have the the Corporation for National and Community Service orchestrate an effort to help the cleanup in the Gulf Coast region by injecting resources from local businesses, coupled with the labor of young volunteers.
