A new analysis by Sen. Sherrod Brown suggests that 34,000 people in Franklin County are missing a chance to sign up for a $2,500 college tuition tax credit provided by the federal government.

Brown, D-Ohio, said he based his analysis on a new report by the U.S. Department of the Treasury that showed 35 percent of eligible Ohio families in 2009 failed to take advantage of the tax credit, which was part of the $787 billion economic stimulus package approved by Congress that same year.
