WASHINGTON - U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown has ambitious plans to enroll 150,000 more Ohio children by next year in the National School Lunch Program, which offers free or reduced-price breakfasts and lunches.

The Ohio Democrat said 700,000 Ohio children already receive a free or reduced-price meal every day.

"Not only are the kids getting enough to eat but they're getting better nutrition than they would have otherwise," Brown said.
