WILMINGTON — Labor leaders, clergy, businessmen, residents and politicians joined with employees of the ABX Air and ASTAR Air Cargo airlines Sunday, June 1, to start organizing opposition to DHL's plan to hire United Parcel Service to take over U.S. air transport of DHL packages.

"This is not an end. This is a beginning," said Mark Dimondstein, a field organizer with the American Postal Workers Union.

His union arranged the meeting on Sunday afternoon, which attracted nearly 100 people. The union has been working to win the right to represent both DHL and ABX Air employees.
