It’s been more than two years since David Betts died in a motor coach accident near Atlanta that took the lives of seven, including five members of the Bluffton University baseball team, and John Betts’ patience has long worn thin.

In the hours after his son died, Betts, of Bryan, Ohio, vowed to try to prevent others from meeting the same fate David did. He’s gone to Washington, D.C., repeatedly to press for additional safety measures on motor coaches, including seat belts. He’ll be back there today.
