Congress has passed a new five-year farm bill. President Bush has vowed to veto it, but it appears to be backed by veto-proof majorities in both houses.
Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, the first Ohioan on the Senate Agriculture Committee in 40 years, has issued a press release explaining the bill's provisions. Passage of the bill also was hailed by U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur, D-Toledo, and U.S. Rep Bob Latta, R-Bowling Green (here and here.)
