Federal Funds approved for airport work

NEW PHILADELPHIA — Following an announcement Monday by U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, that $91,809 in federal funds were awarded to New Philadelphia to rehabilitate the city’s airport taxiway apron, City Council Monday night passed a resolution accepting the money.

The resolution, passed as an emergency, will be used to pay for unexpected subsurface problems that developed during the ramp rehabilitation project at Harry Clever Field last fall.
