The U.S. Department of Labor will release an additional $1.66 million specifically to assist Twinsburg Chrysler stamping plant workers and their families, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown’s office (D-Ohio) announced June 4.
“These funds are critical for Twinsburg auto workers and their families,” Brown said in a prepared statement. “They represent a national commitment to rebuilding Ohio auto communities and preparing Ohioans for clean energy jobs.
The funding, to be added to a $10 million national grant for Ohio auto communities, will assist the remaining 700 workers at the Twinsburg plant, after more than 300 other employees there accepted early buyouts last week.
