Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown says the cost of living for older Americans is a lot different than the cost of living for working Americans. And he says Social Security should reflect that.
The Democrat has introduced the Consumer Price Index for Elderly Consumers Act. It would change the way cost-of-living increases are calculated for Social Security. Right now, he says adjustments are disproportionately based on expenses such as gasoline over issues like healthcare.
