CLEVELAND - Sen. Sherrod Brown, Ed FitzGerald and other local politicians came to Cleveland today with the "Give America a Raise" bus tour.
The bus stopped at the SEIU District 1199 on E. 30th St.
The tour is pushing to raise the minimum wage in the U.S. from $7.95 an hour to $10.10 an hour. President Obama is heading up the effort in Washington.
A recent Public Policy Polling survey found that 64% of Ohioans support the hike in the minimum wage. 36% oppose it.
The Center for American Progress Action Fund finds that raising the minimum wage would generate more than $977 million in economic activity in Ohio alone.
