NCAA on Monday to announce tournament sites for 2016-18.
Dayton Daily News
Ohio’s two senators have teamed up with Dayton’s congressman to ask the NCAA to pick Dayton as a host for the NCAA men’s Division 1 basketball tournament through 2018.
They have limited time to make their pitch: An NCAA spokesman said the collegiate governing body would announce its First Four and other preliminary round sites at noon on Monday at NCAA.com.
Sioux Falls, S.D., which opened a new 12,000-seat arena in September, is the only other city reported to have submitted a bid for the First Four. The University of Dayton Arena has a capacity of about 13,400.
