CLEVELAND — Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown is one of the federal lawmakers calling for $25 billion from the economic rescue bill to fund loans for the big three U.S. automakers - GM, Ford, Chyrsler.
"The public needs to be as certain as we can make it that this is NOT a giveaway. This is NOT a bailout," said Brown.
He calls it a low-interest loan.
"They're losing money on their operations and they're not building cars that people want," Brown told the media on Monday.
