The National Park Service has awarded million-dollar grants for improvements at the Magee Marsh Wildlife Area in Ottawa County and Van Buren State Park in Hancock County, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D., Ohio) announced.

The $1,160,106 Land and Water Conservation Fund grant for Magee Marsh is “to complete new development and renovation of facilities,” while $1,006,600 awarded for the state park will pay for utility upgrades and installation at campsites, road paving, replacing an existing playground, and building a new basketball court.
