Delaware County’s sheriff met with U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown on Tuesday in Washington to discuss extending funding for the Maternal, Infant and Early Childhood Home Visiting programs in Ohio.

Sheriff Russell Martin met Tuesday with Brown, an Ohio Democrat, and Cincinnati Police Chief Jeffrey Blackwell to discuss the success of the programs and the “pressing need” to extend funding for the program, which is set to expire on March 31, 2015, according to Brown’s office.
