Mifflin Township firefighters awarded $105K Homeland Security grant

MIFFLIN TOWNSHIP -- A Homeland Security grant will allow the Mifflin Township Fire Department to buy state-of-the-art heart monitors and pry tools designed to free victims from wrecked vehicles.
U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown announced this week that $105,070 will be awarded through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Assistance to Firefighters Grants program.
"These funds ensure that firefighters in central Ohio have the resources they need to perform their jobs well and keep our communities safe," Brown said.
