Six months ago, “Cure Darfur Week” never existed. Now, several student organizations are uniting to raise awareness and funds to stop the genocide in Darfur.

Two North Ridgeville High School students are among those who want to make a difference.

Senior Meredith Collier and junior Michelle Bing have organized a week of fundraisers and classroom activities to educate students about genocide while remaining consistent with state-approved curriculum.

Some of the activities include class discussions about Darfur and writing persuasive letters asking U.S. Sens. George Voinovich and Sherrod Brown to take action.
