Northeast Ohio gets grants for health care job training

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Berea Children's Home got a $4.93 million U.S. Labor Department job training grant on Friday that it will use to train more than 1,000 new nursing assistants for jobs in area hospitals, nursing homes and homes.

Cuyahoga and Lakeland Community Colleges will share in a separate $5 million federal grant to train students for biomedical industry careers like medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturing.
