Northeast Ohio veteran awarded Purple Heart 46 years after killed in combat

Family accepts six medals on his behalf

It's been 46 years since Larry Eisenbraun was killed in action in Vietnam.
 
The day before Veterans Day, his family was able to honor his memory and accept six medals, including a Purple Heart, on his behalf during a ceremony in downtown Cleveland.
 
The other medals, presented by Sen. Sherrod Brown, included a combat action ribbon, military defense service medal, a Vietnam service medal, a Navy unit commendation ribbon and a meritorious unit commendation ribbon.
