Cleveland-based Northstar Contracting Inc. will build the exterior walls of the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) announced Monday, July 7.

Northstar will build the exterior wall panels, called curtain walls by construction contractors and architects, at its office and shop here before shipping them to Washington, D.C., to go onto the building’s steel frame.

Brown’s office said the contract is valued at $41 million.
