Food banks across Ohio will offer meals to children 18 years or younger during the summer months. The Ohio Department of Education is operating more than a thousand sites for the program that will feed children living under the poverty level.

Ohio’s Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown chairs the Senate subcommittee on Hunger, Nutrition and Family Farms. He says nearly 40 percent of Ohio’s students receive free or reduced price lunches during the school year, and they suffer once school is out.
