Even as Ohio legislators in the federal government continued to fight to keep DHL from abandoning operations at the Wilmington Airpark, local leaders gathered to prepare what many believe to be an inevitable economic catastrophe.

Ohio leadership at the federal level is exploring its options, including antitrust action against DHL and Deutsche Post World Net.

"We believe that there are real antitrust issues that need to be reviewed," said Rep. Mike Turner (R-Ohio). "We've asked both the Department of Justice and the Department of Transportation to review this issue."

"We are looking into government contracts, particularly federal government contracts that Deutsche Post might have," said Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio). "They are doing a terrible thing to our community and our state, and we'll play hardball with them on their government contracts once we find out what they have."
