Ohio senators back delay of Medicare bidding program

Both of Ohio's U.S. senators are prominently featured in a Senate Finance Committee bid to delay a law imposing new Medicare competitive bidding program when it comes to medical equipment such as oxygen systems and wheelchairs.

The medical equipment lobby has been furiously fighting the new program, including Elyria-based Invacare - whose executives, political action committee and others associated with the company have been top givers to both Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown and Republican Sen. George V. Voinovich.
